Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in various European as well as American films. She is best known for acting in the film 'La Dolce Vita,' the comedy-drama film. It won an Oscar and a Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, as well as a commercial and critical success. She was born in Skane and worked as a model before embarking on the acting profession. She eventually won the Miss Sweden Contest. Her move to US and started to be seen in multiple movies playing minor role. She played the Venusian Guard in the movie 'Abbott and Costello's Trip to Mars.' This was her first film credit. Her role was soon recognized with the Golden Globe award in the "Most Promising Newcomer" category after appearing in the movie 'Blood Alley'. Her filmography included many different films that included the war drama War and Peace, the Western "Valerie," the British Crime Adventure film The Man Inside and the film of the same name, The Dam on the Yellow River.'
